METALLICA To Open Royal Arena In Copenhagen With Two Special Performances
September 26, 2016METALLICA will open the doors of the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark with two very special performances on February 3 and February 5, 2017.
As of right now, these shows are METALLICA's only scheduled European appearances of 2017 — until the fall at the earliest.
Members of METALLICA's fan club will have first crack at tickets for the Copenhagen shows starting this Wednesday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. CET, with the sale ending on September 30 at 9:00 a.m. CET or when sold out. Tickets will be available to all on Friday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. CET at Ticketmaster.dk.
METALLICA has played in Denmark more than 20 times. One reason is that the band's drummer, Lars Ulrich, is Danish-born.
METALLICA's tenth studio album, "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct", is scheduled for a November 18 release via Blackened Recordings. The long-awaited follow-up to 2008's "Death Magnetic" consists of two discs, containing a dozen songs and nearly 80 minutes of music.
"Hardwired...To Self-Destruct" was produced by Greg Fidelman with frontman James Hetfield and Ulrich. The band recorded the disc at its own studio.
METALLICA will play a special intimate show at Webster Hall in New York City on Tuesday, September 27. The band will then appear at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, California on October 22 and October 23.
